Born for Such a Time as This

God's providential hand was on Esther and Mordecai as He moved upon them through this difficult time in Jewish history. Imagine how difficult it would have been for them to see how they were going to navigate through this dark plot against the Jewish people.

When history repeats itself with atrocities, we have these biblical examples to give us insight as we too are called to walk by faith even when we do not see how things will unfold.

When God places His hand upon His people, according to His Kingdom purposes, He gives them favor in the sight of all.

Proverbs 16:7 “When a man’s ways please the Lord,

He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”

We observe this favor in the life of Esther as God worked through her to accomplish His purposes on behalf of the Jewish people.

'FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS' - originating from the Book of Esther, points to the divine providence and sovereignty of God in human history. It also points to human agency as Esther yielded her obedience to the responsibility before her.

Esther requested her people to fast…we can assume this included prayer…and she wisely waited for the right time to approach the King.

Every day we are given a choice in how we respond with the evils of our times. Are we willing to be the person God uses to impact the future destiny of a people, a nation? Many standby silently and watch while letting the status quo reign. We were created for such a time as this to be a catalyst to bring truth, freedom and change as we stand in the gap, "to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." Luke 4:19

Be faithful to your calling, as Esther was to hers, trusting the outcome of all things into His capable hands. Perhaps this is the moment for which you were created. Esther 4:14
